DICK LEE
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Multi-talented Dick Lee has firmly established himself as a prolific local and international music producer, composer and performer. He is also founder of the talent management company, Music and Movement, and event management company, StyleAsia.

Dick is often recognised through his works as the spokesperson for the New Asian generation. After his highly successful ‘The Mad Chinaman’ album in 1989, he moved to Japan where he continued to develop the new Asian identity through his solo work, as well as in collaborations with top Asian artistes like Sandy Lam. Besides being an accomplished singer-record producer-composer, he was appointed Regional Vice-President of Artiste and Repertoire for Sony Music Asia (Hong Kong) from 1998 to 2000. Having written many stage musicals, Dick also has a passion for theatre and has been the Associate Artistic Director of The Singapore Repertory Theatre since 1998.

Dick’s outstanding contributions to the music scene have been celebrated with numerous accolades including a Golden Horse Award and a Hong Kong Academy Award for best original movie theme songs, and the Arts & Culture Prize at the 2003 Fukuoka Asian Culture Prizes. He has been named Top Local Composer of the Year five times by the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore, and was presented the prestigious Cultural Medallion in 2005 by the National Arts Council of Singapore.

As Artistic Director of PA Talents, Dick Lee works with the leaders and members of PA Talents to nurture our local talents, experiment and evolve our local works, bringing PA Talents to even higher profile and standards. In the process, we promote greater understanding and appreciation of our cultural diversity, promoting unity and harmony through music and dance.
