FAN DONG KAI
ARTISTIC PRODUCER

A graduate of the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy, Fan Dong Kai was selected to study choreography under the tutelage of Mr Ben Stevenson, Artistic Director of the Houston Ballet in the United States in 1988. He subsequently continued there as a Guest Choreographer before joining the People’s Association Dance Company in 1994.

Dong Kai has earned international acclaim for his dancing, winning many awards and competitions. His choreography has been staged in ballet competitions in USA and Switzerland and at various global festivals held in Asia, Europe and the USA. He also won four awards in the 6th China International Dance Competition in 2004.

As Artistic Producer for PA Talents, Dong Kai has choreographed major events such as the Chingay Parade and the National Day Parade, as well as a number of other milestone events in the history of the People’s Association. With his instrumental involvement in Singapore’s arts scene, Dong Kai continues to produce artistic and creative works that are in tandem with the harmonious cultural identity that is uniquely Singaporean.
