NEILA SATHYALINGAM
RESIDENT CHOREOGRAPHER
INDIAN DANCE GROUP

Dance has been Neila’s passion since she began her dance career at the age of 13. She studied classical Indian Dance at the Kalashetra, the College of Fine Arts in Madras, India, founded an Indian dance group "Asparas" in 1977, and was appointed the dance instructor and choreographer for the PA Indian Dance Group in 1983.

Neila’s works have been featured both on television and in the theatre, and her dedication to her art has been recognised at the highest levels. In 1989, she received the Singapore Cultural Medallion for Dance. In 1994, she was honoured with the title “Viswa Kala Bharathi” from Bharat Kalachar of India for her artistic contributions throughout the world.
